About Mirissa
Mirissa built its name on whale watching — this stretch of the south coast is one of the most reliable places on earth to see blue whales, alongside sperm whales, dolphins and the occasional orca. Boats leave early, around 6.30am, for what's usually a 3–5 hour round trip. Outside of that, it's a straightforward, likeable beach town: a crescent of sand, a rock outcrop to climb for sunset, and a short list of things to do that mostly involve doing very little.
