About Colombo
Colombo is where most Sri Lanka trips begin and end — a working port city of colonial-era facades, glass office towers and a coastline that turns gold at sunset along Galle Face Green. It isn't a city built for lingering the way Kandy or Galle are, but two to three days is enough to get a real feel for it: the restored Dutch Hospital precinct, the incense-heavy calm of Gangaramaya Temple, and the noisy, fragrant sprawl of Pettah Market.
